Energy Star® Pilot and Multifamily Performance Program
Sustainability
Experts
This on-going, multi-year effort involves:
Simulation Guidelines Development - The development
and maintenance of energy modeling guidelines for the EPA's
Energy Star ® Multi-family Pilot and Multifamily Performance Program.
The program is administered by New York State Energy Research and
Development Authority (NYSERDA). The guidelines provide an
interpretation of ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G modeling protocol as
applied to multi-family buildings. The Simulation Guidelines are now
being adopted by LEED ® for Mid-rise Multifamily Pilot.
QA Process Development - The model review and
quality assurance (QA) process was established to ensure consistency
between multiple reviewers. In-depth understanding of energy
simulation allowed us to optimize the review process to concentrate
on aspects that have the most impact on results to maintain
the quality of final submittals with minimal administration
overhead.
General Consulting - In addition to the more
specific tasks described above, Karpman Consulting provides
consultation on both program design and day-to-day operations of the
the Multifamily Performance Program.
